fourwards

Fwd: in 6th grade at cohen hillel academy, our grade buried a time capsule. we had to answer a survery of our favorite things and were asked to put in pictures, artwork, or whatever we felt was appropriate.

here, we have graduated from college, 10 years later from when we buried this. the funniest part of the whole night is that no one could remember exactly where we had buried the treasure chest! ben d. (we had 3 bens in our grade), who we thought was the most responsible, was actually in CA for this, lost the map we had for the chest, and we were off to fend for ourselves.

after digging up the whole side of our school building, we had succcessfully found our chest! to our dismay, our teacher Rose-Jane told us that she buried 2 chests after us with the following grades. and we though WE were her favorites.

everyone had their own envelope with their goodies. our friends who couldn’t make it told us to look inside for them! we found everything from newspaper clippings, celtics tickets, a power ranger, old laminated class book, artwork from acorn, and a hockey puck. we all reminisced outside and laughed at our silly writing.

i am always a fan of connecting and then reconnecting with old friends. Rose-Jane, who spoke at my batmitzvah and many others, was determined to have us complete one last assignment: write on a paper where we will be in the NEXT 10 years. this time around, a lot of people were stumped. 10 years after college? now that’s where the fun starts. cannot wait to be at that reunion.

CHA 04 for life.
